Theories in (Hi)story

Part of the Einstein Forum’s work as a laboratory of the mind involves inquiry into the conditions under which a history of knowledge emerges. How does knowledge arise in the exchange between disciplines? Which institutional and personal constellations enable and limit what is often romanticized as the ideal conversation? What are the material, visual, and auditory prerequisites that shape a theory’s genesis? How do the literary and theoretical forms of scientific texts interact? How do the histories of concept, metaphor, and discourse relate to each other?
